Constitution Act of 1982
The Consitiution Act of 1982 honoured the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom. It also finished the buisiness from the Canadian independence. Out of all of the human rights milestones that we have passed in Canada this one has to be the biggest because it gave us full independence from Britian. The Consitution states general things such as our offical languages, and our personal independence. The Consitution was formed to make laws for Canada, up until 1982 Canada followed the rules that Britian had in their Constitution.

On the other hand the Provincial Premieres were very upset with Trudeau's action, and since it was a Canadian tradition Trudeau went back and wrote the final constitution with the help, support and opinions from the Provincial Premieres. Trudeau would later take the final Constitution to the British Parliament in hope to have some independence from Britain.
On April 17 1982, Queen Elizabeth II and Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau met on Parliament Hill and signed the Constitution Act. The final Constitution included many smaller things however the major points of the Constitution was the Charter of Rights and Freedom, and the British North America Act. The Consituiton had to be one of the major human rights milestones that were passed. It gave Canada independence from Britian,
